As we continue to scale across industries and regions, we are seeking a talented and experienced Group Financial Controller to lead our finance function and drive strategic financial oversight across the Group.
Summary:
The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for the overall financial management and reporting of VF Group. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to support strategic decision-making at the executive level. The role reports directly to the CEO and plays a key role in business planning, risk management, digital transformation, and financial compliance across the Group’s entities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Act as a key financial advisor to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and commercial proposals with clear financial analysis.
Finance Team Management
- Oversee and guide the finance team in day-to-day operations, ensuring strong internal controls and adherence to reporting timelines.
- Support the professional development and performance management of team members.
- Drive improvements in processes, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Review and approve monthly reconciliations including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, inventory, right-of-use assets, and related-party balances.
- Ensure timely submission of management accounts with detailed variance analysis.
- Oversee VAT submissions, payroll reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS standards and support the adoption of new regulations.
Audit & Governance
- Coordinate the annual audit process and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment across the Group.
- Lead the finance function’s contribution to internal and external audits.
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cashflow
- Review supplier reconciliations, approve Top20 account reconciliations, and manage payment schedules.
- Monitor debtor ageing reports and update provisions in line with group policy.
- Approve monthly bank reconciliations and prepare group cash flow forecasts.
Systems & Digital Transformation
- Lead the transition from Microsoft Navision to Business Central (2024–2025).
- Support the implementation and adoption of Power BI and other financial reporting tools.
- Champion digital innovation to improve automation and data visibility.
Candidate Requirements
- ACCA-qualified or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2–3 years in a similar senior finance role; group experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, and financial controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Shireburn, Navision, Dynamics 365 Business Central considered a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
